Thattekad is a region in the district of Ernakulam in Kerala situated at the foot of the Western Ghats next to the Periyar river. Thattekad when translated means flat forest and is regarded as one of the best spots for birding in Kerala. Leaving Fort Kochi early we surprise you to a spot north-east, a hamlet called Cherukunnam. This little village is interspersed with canals in all directions. We bike along one of these canal bund roads amid lush green paddy fields, numerous coconut trees and lonely villages leading you to the Edamalayar forests. The Edamalayar forests and the Thattekad Bird Sanctuary are famed for the many species of birds. The birds, the air and the calm breeze boost and rejuvenate your body & mind. End your day with Kayaking on the longest river in Kerala followed by plantation walks. Spread around an area of 25 sq km, this sanctuary has more than 200 varieties of birds including the large falcon, grey jungle fowl, white breasted water hen, hornbill etc. Another attraction we head to is the Bhoothathankettu; a scenic dam site. The trip was awesome and well organised. Tour Guide is so friendly. Explaination about the places we visited is good and understandable. He is having some good knowledge in almost all the places in Georgia. Also we have experienced with some of the Georgian foods with him which was not in our plan and really liked that. Regarding the hotel, we are much happy with that. I would like to say special thanks for your surprise gift 🎁 that we got on second day of tour. Thank you very much for all your service. We really enjoyed our holidays with you.!!! Surely I can recommend your travel agency for the holidays. Keep it up..

  • Kalidas Iyer - 14/07/2018

We had an pleasant trip with no complaints. We are extremely happy that we chose Georgia and Airborne as our partner in making this trip happen. Firstly, we want to compliment the service and warmth of Mr Edward, our tour guide. He was caring, flexible and informative at the same time. We would strongly recommend his presence to any of our friend's tours to Georgia. Further, our stay was very comfortable at Citadines with ease of access to nearby mall, restaurants and shopping areas ; not to ignore aspects of security. Our iterinary was drawn well too, with choice of iconic places, mix of nature and architecture with optimum time for rest between travel times. Overall, we had our happy moments and made great memories during the six days. We will be more than happy to recommend Airborne and your help specifically to our circles in their travels to Georgia and beyond. Thank You once again.
